Sweet, aniseed, slightly peppery and liquorice notes.

As well as being used in cooking to make Khmer curry and desserts and in traditional Chinese medicine, star anise, the fruit of the star anise tree, is also used as an infusion to relieve stomach aches, aid digestion and treat coughs and bronchitis.*
